Many of my mornings , when I am out of my studio, soaking in the people around me, researching, begin with a cup of tea. In  Pain Quotidien in downtown DC this sunny, Sunday morning this woman was sitting opposite me, deep in contemplation. We caught each others eye and smiled. When painting this, it was my connections to her and also the graphic elements that were so exciting to work with.
